Glówny Instytut Górnictwa (Central Mining Institute), located in Katowice, the capital of Silesia Region (southern Poland), is a public, research-development unit with sixty years’ experience in mining, environmental engineering, civil engineering and related fields. The scope of activities of the Partner in the field of environmental engineering comprises: sustainable development of regions, industrial and municipal waste management, water protection and water-sewage management, energy saving and air protection, ecological and energy audits, environmental impact assessment, environmental monitoring, reclamation of industrial degradated areas. Central Mining Institute is acting as advisor and expert for various aspects in Brownfield revitalisation processes taking place in many municipalities of Silesia Region.
